You gotta get out of the box to catch your prize.
When you are set in the box you want your horse focused ahead and geared up and ready to leave the box and to have his eye and yours on the catch ahead of you.
Today I'm gonna talk to you about some boxes we need to be ready to leave fast n hard n with a focus n purpose ahead of us to catch the prize!!
In IS 61:1
The spirit of The Lord is upon me, because He has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor
He has sent me to heal the broken hearted to proclaim freedom for the captives and release prisoners for their darkness.
Being a prisoner is being boxed in and not able to move about the way God intended us we become prisoners in our minds and emotions from fears failures and hurts.
We let what others say or think of us become a box we live in. We allow our own thoughts to put us in a box. We start as little kids all the way to adults thinking bad thoughts towards are selves that make it hard for us to focus of the good things in our future.
Growing up I always had big dreams and ideas. I sometimes felt like odd man out or girl so to speak
If I felt limited or boxed in I was ready to fight my way out.
My mom told at a ladies meeting in her testimony that the more anyone tried to shove me in a box that I was always Kickn an arm or a leg out and I wasn't gonna have it.
Through the years I found that I had limited myself and His dreams and plans by my box of hurts, unforgiveness, insecurites n fears.
I had a choice to stay there and miss out on all He had for me or get out that box and run hard n fast to catch the prize or the things God had for me.
I was thinking of some people in the Bible who we're in a box, and what they would have missed out on if they got in self pity , anger n fear and remained there till they died.
Joseph was thrown into a hole by his brothers. He could have become bitter n hateful but he held onto his dreams. He finds himself in Pharos palace to once again be put back in a box when he was thrown into prison. He had a gift to interpret dreams. He could have allowed prison to keep him from sharing his gift and stayed to himself in his box. No he threw a leg out n stepped out in faith n it was his open lid to his box. He would have missed out on being Pharos right hand man that brought him freedom and prosperity. He would have missed out on restoration in his family.
Then what about Paul? Paul was repeatedly thrown into prison. He would Praise God n worship Him right in the middle of his limitations n his box. Can you imagine, sewage all around him, dark, rats n stench and Paul stands before King Agrippa n says I think myself Happy. Basically he is saying you May chain me up n throw me in prison but my heart refuses to be put in to that box he knew God had bigger plans.
If he would have chosen to just die there alone in prison we wouldn't have most the New Testament. The churches that were established so lives were changed through out generations might not have been planted. So getting out of your box isn't just for you it's to go set the other captives free.
Then there is the woman with the issue of blood she was considered unclean. She could have been stoned to death for being in public. Yet she crawled through crowds of people getting stepped on n I'm sure people we're gasping at the Gawl of her being out. She did all this just yo touch the hem of his garment. She had a faith that moved her to get our of her box. Jesus is in the midst of these crowds n you He was getting grabbed at by all kinds of people yet He said WHO TOUCHED ME? He felt her faith. Can He feel yours? We have to see ourselves catching our dreams, our forgiveness our healing or easterner that need is just like catching your steer.
I watched Ricky green DVDs and he talks about visualizing over n over your run. Catching your Steer n winning. This is faith
If you find yourself out there in the roping pen, roping the dummy or in life in general and you seem to be making mistakes don't give up. Don't get a mindset that keeps you in that box. When I was working on the roping dummy the other day Todd told me that it's okay to miss and make mistakes. It's the mistakes I learn from. He told me if I just walked up and caught right off the start and didn't know what it was like to miss I could develop a false since of security. Then I get in the arena at a roping with the pressure to win n I miss and first thing I wanna do is quit because I didn't develop a trust n skills in my roping.
Same thing with God. If it was so easy then we wouldn't learn to trust In Jesus and wouldn't feel we needed Him. So learn from your mistakes in and out of the arena.
Then you will be ready to leave that box hard and fast knowing that your eyes are on His prize.
I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.
If we can keep ourselves always focused on the prize just like in roping you will be ready to get out of that box because you know that it's in the arena of life that you win!
Whatever you have already went through in your life rather it's been hurts from relationships or maybe disappointed in how your last roping turned out you just keep on focussing on Jer 29:11.
New International Version (NIV)
11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
And my very favorite scripture I love to share is Eph 3:20
